Statistics vs Data Science: what is the difference and should we care?

Aris Perperoglou is a Data Science Director at Data Science & Artificial Intelligence R&D, AstraZeneca in Cambridge UK and a visiting Professor at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Astrophysics at Newcastle University.  He is an elected member of the Medical Section for the Royal Statistical Society and a chair of the STRATOS initiative. His research focuses on Statistical Modelling, Smoothing, Machine Learning and Survival models. He holds a BSc in Statistics from AUEB.
