Academic Advisors
Academic Advisor
For each student in the Department, an instructor from the department is appointed as the Academic Advisor from the beginning of their studies. The Academic Advisor (faculty members and special teaching staff) advises the student on matters related to their studies.
The responsibility of the Academic Advisors is to guide students throughout their education according to the curriculum and their individual inclinations. The goal of this collaboration is to find the best course options based on the personal, academic, and professional interests of each student. At the same time, the Academic Advisors regularly communicate with students to promptly address any issues or questions that may arise during their studies. The Academic Advisors will also advise students on the paths they may follow after completing their studies in the Department of Statistics (graduate studies, career prospects, etc.).
The allocation of students to Academic Advisors is done under the responsibility of the Department Chair. If an instructor is absent due to educational leave, a substitute is appointed for the students they advise. In the case of an instructor leaving the department, the allocation of their students to other instructors is managed by the Department Chair.
Each student can find out which Academic Advisor has been assigned to them using their student ID number, either through the e-Grammateia system or from the list below:
