Distinguished Artifact Award for PhD candidate of the DMST Department

The publication of the PhD candidate of the Department of Management Science and Technology of Athens University of Economics, Theodoros Sotiropoulos, which was prepared in collaboration with the supervising Professor Diomidis Spinellis and the researchers of the Business Analysis Laboratory Stefanos Chaliasos, Vangelis Atlidakis and Dimitris Mitropoulos was honored with the "Distinguished Artifact Award" at the leading International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2021) that takes place this month online.

The award-winning publication, entitled "Data-Oriented Differential Testing of Object-Relational Mapping Systems", is an innovative method for finding errors in systems that allow easy interconnection of information systems with databases. The application of the method allowed 25 unknowns to be found until errors were discovered in widely used software systems and led their manufacturers to correct most of them.

The recognition given to the researchers concerns the software and data that accompany the publication. Their open availability allows other scientists and industry to use them in new research and practical applications.
