The AUEB Department of Economics organizes the 13th Annual Competition and Regulation Summer School and Conference (CRESSE) from the 23rd of June to the 5th of July, 2018 (Conference dates: June 29th - July 1st 2018) and the 5th CRESSE Lawyers' Course from the 29th June to the 2nd July, 2018, at the OUT OF THE BLUE Capsis Elite Resort, in Crete, Greece. The CRESSE Conference Keynote Speakers will be Prof. John Vickers (University of Oxford), Prof. Dennis Carlton (The University of Chicago Booth School of Business), Dr. David Evans (Chairman of Global Economics Inc), Prof. Herbert Hovenkamp (University of Pennsylvania Law School) and Prof. Eleanor Fox (New York University School of Law).

On May 18, 2018, the Department of Economics organized an Honorary Event in memory of Professor Emmanuel Drandakis. Professor Drandakis served the Department of Economics from 1972 to 2000. A world famous microeconomist specializing in general equilibrium theory, he was the Department's first Graduate Studies Director, where he laid the foundations for one of the most successful graduate programs in the country.

Jean Monnet Seminar Series:
Jean Monnet Seminar Series: Professor Demopoulos is directing for 21 consecutive years the Jean Ìonnet Seminar Series (weekly, during the spring semester). It has been established as an Institutional platform for a productive dialogue between leading academics, experts from the banking and public sectors and students.
XENOPHON Conference:
The Department of Economics of Athens University of Economics and Business hosted the Conference "XENOPHON: ECONOMISTS AT WORK IN ATHENS 2017" on December 16, 2017. The conference was organized by Professor Evi Pappa, European University Institute and Professor Plutarchos Sakellaris, Athens University of Economics and Business and took place.

AUEB’s Department of Economics supports the organization of the 17th Conference on Research on Economic Theory and Econometrics (CRETE) at Tinos, Greece, July 13-17, 2018. The program includes talks by John Geanakoplos (Yale), Costas Meghir (Yale), Amedeo Odoni (MIT), Torsten Persson (Stockholm), Christopher Pissarides (Univ. of Cyprus and LSE, 2010 Nobel Prize) and Patrick Rey (Toulouse School of Economics), among many other distinguished presenters.
