As the end of the spring semester of the academic year 2023-2024 has arrived, an important moment for the completion of the innovative actions of this academic year was the meeting of the Scientific Committee for the evaluation of the group work of the students who took part in the innovative action "Education, Entrepreneurship and Culture", which is successfully implemented for the sixth consecutive academic year by the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Association "Diazoma", the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit of AUEB (ACEin) and the economic educational magazine "Xenophon".

On Friday 17/05/2024, the scientific coordinator of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Dr. Vasiliki Brinia as well as two graduates of the program and members of the Scientific Team, Sofia Georgogala and Stavroula Marinopoulou, participated in the radio show "Vivliothikes sta FM". This show is a collaboration between the Union of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists and the Municipal Library of the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica, and broadcasts from the radio station of the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica, Epikoinonia94FM. The show is curated and presented by, Mrs. Mary Zakente and Mrs. Anthi Katsirikou.

On Sunday 07/04/2024, two members of the Scientific Team of the Teacher Education Program represented it at the 10-year anniversary event of the Pedagogical Team "The Skasiarchio – Experimental Palpations for a Community School".

On Friday March 17, 2023, the students of the Teachers Education Programme of Athens University of Economics and Business participated in a field research that was designed within the framework of the innovative action "Culture, Education and Entrepreneurship". Specifically, they visited the ancient theatre of Thorikos and Laurion, under the guidance of Dr. Vasiliki Brinia, scientific director of the innovative action and the program and instructor of the course, Mr. Georgios Tziros, mentor of the project "Culture, Education and Entrepreneurship" and award-winning economist-educator and representative of the educational-economic magazine "XENOPHON", Ms. Mary Belogianni, PhD philologist and director of the educational programs of “DIAZOMA”,  Ms. Georgia Manolopoulou, PhD museologist and member of the Board of “DIAZOMA”, Ms. Elina Aggeli, architecture engineer, MSc in Museum Protection and member of D-HUB of “DIAZOMA” and Ms. Despoina Vaxevanidi, artist of Athens School of Fine Arts.

Vasiliki Brinia was distinguished as a member of the Editorial Board with the Outstanding reviewer award for the magazine Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based Learning from the Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence for 2022.

On July 27, 2022, the psychoanalytic and academic community lost the leading Psychiatrist, Child Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst Mattheos Yosaphat.

True to its vision for a better and more multidimensional education of future economist teachers with a view to strengthening economic education in Greece, the AUEB Teacher Education Program  continued for the academic year 2021/2022 a long course of scientific cooperation with the magazine "XENOFON", the result of which is the joint research conducted in order to highlight the need to strengthen financial education in the Greek High School.

Within the framework of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the professor of the course "General and Evolutionary Psychology", Mrs. Makri Dimitra, organized   the educational visit to the Numismatic Museum of Athens.    The aim of this visit was to guide the students to the Museum and familiarizethem withthe method of field research, in combination with the application of a worksheet.   Specifically, on Wednesday 25/05/2022, the students, within the framework of the above action, were divided into two groups and visited the museum, during the hours of 11:30 to 14:00.

"Life Lessons in schools", the innovative action of the Teacher Education Program of AUEB has been successfully completed in scientific collaboration of Dr. Vasiliki Brinia with the Hellenic Society of Analytical Group and Family Psychotherapy on the initiative of the president of Mr. Panteli Papadopoulou, psychiatrist-psychotherapist, team analyst.

On Saturday April 2, 2022, the students of the Teacher Education Program of AUEB participated in field research that was designed within the framework of the innovative action "Culture, Education and Entrepreneurship". Specifically, they visited the archaeological site of Eleusis as well as the old railway station, under the guidance of the mentor of the project "Culture, Education and Entrepreneurship", Mr. Georgios Tziros, the award-winning economist-educator and representative of the educational-economic magazine "XENOPHON".

For the year 2021-2022 have been designed by Dr. V. Brinia, Scientific Officer of the Curriculum in Education and Training Sciences, a series of training activities and meetings in the framework of the innovative action "Entrepreneurship, Education and Culture" in collaboration with Diazoma association and the D HUB team, the Xenophon magazine and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the AOP (ACEin). Diazoma is an association whose members have focused on contributing to the promotion of natural and cultural monuments and their integration into the center of life, sustainability and sustainable development. The Curriculum in the Sciences of Education of the AOP is scientifically assisting in this effort of Diazoma.

Within the framework of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the innovative action "Educating Teachers through Art" takes place, as art is considered an integral part of education. One of the external experiential actions introduced to the educational process, in the name of the thematic unit "Art and Education", is the visits to galleries and the on-site discussion with the artists.

The event on "Innovative approaches for the sustainable development of the city of Elefsina 2023: Entrepreneurship, Culture and Education", which took place on Saturday 10/7/21 at 20:30 at the Old Elefsina Oil Mill, was completed with great success. The event, co-organized by the Athens University of Economics (AUEB), the Municipality of Elefsina and the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Elefsina, with the support of the Cultural Organization "Elefsina - European Capital of Culture in 2023", focused on AUEB Teacher Education Program students'  proposals regarding the promotion of the cultural reserve of the city of Elefsina as the cultural capital of Europe in 2023.

The meeting of the collaborators for the evaluation of the work plans of the students who took part in the innovative action: "Education, Entrepreneurship and Culture", which is successfully implemented for the fourth academic year of the AUEB Teacher Education Program, by the "Diazoma" Association and the collaborating bodies, took place on June 23, 2021 in the office of Dr. Vasiliki Brinia, lecturer and scientific manager of the Program. Dr. Mary Belogianni, in charge of the educational programs of Diazomatos and Mr. George Tziros, participated in their physical presence and in compliance with the health measures imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while Mrs. Georgia Manolopoulou, MSc Ph. Dc Museologist, member of the Board of the Diazoma Association participated online. Dr. Panagiotis Mastrantonis was absent due to an extraordinary obligation.

Το 2ο ΠΕ.Κ.Ε.Σ. Αττικής (5η/03.03.2021 Πράξη της Ολομέλειας) διοργάνωσε την Τρίτη 30 Μαρτίου 2021, ώρα 12:00– 14:00 δίωρο διαδικτυακό σεμινάριο, με θέμα:

«Μαθήματα ζωής στο σχολείο: Η σημασία της αυτογνωσίας στην ενδυνάμωση των μαθητών/τριών και πως επιτυγχάνεται»

Τα «Μαθήματα Ζωής», ως βιωματικό εργαστήριο εφαρμόζεται από το 2017 στο προπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών στις Επιστήμες της Αγωγής και της Εκπαίδευσης του Οικονομικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών ως μέρος της εκπαίδευσης υποψήφιων εκπαιδευτικών.

Με απόλυτη επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε η παρουσία του Προγράμματος Σπουδών στις Επιστήμες της Αγωγής και της Εκπαίδευσης του ΟΠΑ στη διαδικτυακή διημερίδα «Τεχνολογίες Αιχμής στην Εκπαιδευτική Πράξη» που διοργανώθηκε στις 6 και 7 Μαρτίου από τα Εκπαιδευτήρια Αυγουλέα-Λιναρδάτου υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Θρησκευμάτων.

The 2nd issue for 2020 of the Journal of Education and Teaching Methodology (JETM), published by Australia-based NADIA, has been successfully completed. The Editor-in-Chief of the journal Dr. Vasiliki Brinia, lecturer and scientific director of the AUEB Teacher Education Program, as well as the Associate Editor Dr. Britta Klopsch of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) based in Germany, presented a series of articles by outstanding international researchers on education-related topics that are expected to have an impact on the academic community.

Art, and the emotions it evokes, are an integral part of the philosophy of the AUEB Teacher Education Program, thus that couldn’t stop even in the special conditions we experience due to the Covid pandemic.

More specifically, on Friday 2020-12-18, the students of the Program, with the presence of the teacher and scientific director of the Program Dr. Vasiliki Brinia, as well as members of the Scientific Team, had the opportunity to browse remotely, through the Microsoft Teams platform, to the exhibition "The color of phenomenon" of Mr. George Stamatakis, artist  of the School of Fine Arts and collaborator of the Program for a number of years. The tour of the exhibition, which was carried out by the artist himselff, took place in the context of the innovative action "Art and Education", which will be completed during the upcoming spring semester, with the students of the Program creating their own artworks.

The theme the students had to develop for this year was: "Proposals to exploit the cultural reserve of Eleusis in the context of the Athenian trilogy".

Another collaboration completed! The collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business initially involved individual Freinet pedagogical partners with Vasiliki Brinia, professor and research supervisor of the University's Teacher Education Program. It has been and still is an innovation for the University  standards, when since 2014 Nikos Theodosiou with the ZIZANIO camera was one of our first members to collaborate with her on student workshops, lessons and films. But in the last two years, the collaboration with the “Skasiarxeio”  team and her lesson has included a full 36-hour training program for young colleagues in our schools. Together we learn and practice on the school cooperative, the development of Celestin Freinet's second technique in his book "The School of the People" (1977), the "What's New?" and the "Class Council" techniques. This year, the pedagogical program was completed with the last two - necessarily distance learning - meetings on 20/3/2020 and 27/3/2020. But they also left a sense of closeness!

New semester with new plans for the students of the AUEB Teacher Education Program

After the exams of  the winter semester 2019-2020 came the first meeting of the students of the AUEB Teacher Education Program for the spring semester of 2020, on  Wednesday 19/02/2020.

Dr. Vasiliki Brinia from Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece has been appointed to take over editorship of the International Journal of Education Economics and Development, Inderscience UK  

In a festive mood, the meetings of the Teacher Education were completed for 2019. Specifically, on Friday 13/12/2019 the students of the program participated in an experiential workshop at the Athens University of Economics and Business, which involved Celestin Freinet's Pedagogy and was organized by Dr. Vasiliki Brinia in collaboration with teacher Katerina Pouris and the theatrical-educationalist Maria Zacharopoulou ,who are members of the "Skasiarxeio"  teaching team.

In the context of stimuli around fostering the education of the prospective teacher in connection with the "art and education" action, the students of the AUEB Teacher Education Program participated in a specially designed experiential workshop on " Museum and Education : Their Use in Teaching Practice” at the retrospective painting exhibition “POETICS ” by Yiannis Psychopedis at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) at Syggrou Avenue 364, Kallithea.

In the winter semester of each academic year, within the framework of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, strong stimuli about art in museums, galleries, theaters etc. are given, in relation to the innovative Art and Education action that will follow as workshop in the spring semester.

We invite you to the 5th Upper Diazoma Meeting, which will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 11:00 am. at  Eco Zone of publications Corfu - ECONOMIA (Vlahava 6-8, Monastiraki).

Undergraduate students (at least 7th and 8th semesters) of all AUEB Departments who are interested in attending the Teacher Education Program, are called to apply for the Selection Process for the Practical  Teaching I & II at their Departments' Secretariats exclusively from September 2 to September 16, 2019. Candidates will be selected in accordance with the Senate desicion of 18/4/2013 (pages 26-30 of the Information Form). The results will be posted until 30/9/2019 at the Secretariats and on the Program site  https://www.dept.aueb.gr/tep.

In the framework of the innovative activities of the Curriculum of AUEB Teacher Education Program under the scientific responsibility of Dr. Vassiliki Brinia and the collaboration of the pedagogical team "Skasiarxeio" a practical training of the Freinet techniques was held in real school conditions at the 2nd Kaisariani's High School. Specifically, a number of students followed the empirical application of the Freinet techniques, namely the Class Council and the "What's New?" in real school conditions.Ms Stella Badikian, a mathematics teacher at the 2nd Kaisariani's High School and member of the Skasiarxeio team, presented to the students the class board and "What's New?". The experience as recorded by the students of the Program is summarized as follows:

On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, on the eve of the conference of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, entitled "The Teacher: Different Aspects and Perspectives", work on the implementation of the "annual celebration" of the program was completed. After receiving the latest guidelines from the responsible teacher, Dr. Vassiliki Brinia, on the roles of the students and the way the conference was held, the students of the program, on the occasion of a text by the writer and psychotherapist Irvin Gialom, discussed two important concepts: The human contact and the pedagogical relationship. Both were turning around the concept of the teacher. Students, as future teachers, have realized that the pedagogical relationship starts through human relations. It is built by visual contact and does not cover the Cognitive Area, as defined by Bloom and his associates, but the Emotional Area. It has been understood that the pedagogical relationship is not easy to create properly and completely, since there is the possibility of rejection of the teacher by his pupils for this reason every teacher should accept and not tolerate the diversity of his pupils.

On Wednesday, 27 of March 2019, within the framework of the Education and Training Sciences program of the Athens University of Economics and business, took place separate social activities, which are part of the innovative action “Education, Entrepreneurship and Culture”. Mrs. Katerina Alexiadou, responsible for cultural programs of Eastern Attica secondary education and Mr. Theodoros Panas a distinguished dancer and choreographer, gave the stimuli to students to understand, as future teachers, that is not enough to take care only their spirit keeping them constantly alert, but also their body. Through experimental exercises it became obvious that the teacher’s body is as important as his spirit.

The Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business completed, on Friday 1/3/2019 a cycle of six meetings related to the pedagogy of Celestin Freinet on 23 November 2018, 7 December 2018, 14 December 2018, 15 February 2019, 22 February 2019 and on 1 March 2019, as part of the innovative action "New Pedagogical Streams".

With the end of the winter semester of 2018-2019, and in particular on Wednesday 9 January 2019, a meeting took place in AUEB, through which the two innovative successful actions of the curriculum of TEP AUEB of the last years with the scientific responsibility of Dr. Vasiliki Brinia: "Art and Education" in collaboration with the Athens School of Fine Arts and "Entrepreneurship, Education and Culture" in collaboration with DIAZOMA Association.

On Wednesday 12/12/2018, the PAD team visited the Antonopoulou Gallery in Psirri. The students were accompanied by Dr. Vassiliki Brinia, Program Director and Ms. Maria Louizou, Fine Arts Fellow.

After four years of working with the pedagogical group "The Skasiarxeio", this year we have planned a more intensive training in Freinet Pedagogy, which will take place in six meetings with this year's students of the Program.

The AUEB Teacher Education Program, in collaboration with Oslo University, Norway's Department of Teacher Education and School Research and the High School of Fine Arts organized their annual scientific exhibition and annual workshops of students on "Approaching diversity in school: Different aspects and perspectives". With a focus on fine arts, the Program aims to develop innovative pedagogical approaches aimed at the comprehensive education of students as prospective teachers. Dr. Vassiliki Brinia had the scientific responsibility for organizing and implementing innovative educational activities during the year as well as for the specific day conference.

The results of the selection for Teaching Practice (PAD) I and II of the academic year 2018-2019 have been announced on the websites of the Secretariats and the Program.

The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) Teacher Education Program, in collaboration with theυ Department of Teacher Education and School Research of the University of Oslo in Norway and the High School of Fine Arts organized on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Antoniadou Amphitheater, the annual scientific conference and annual exhibition of students' artworks on "Bringing diversity to school: Different perspectives and perspectives". The conference was welcomed by the AUEB Vice-Rector, Professor Dimitris Bourantonis, the Spokesperson of the High School of Fine Arts and on behalf of Oslo University, by the Assistant Professor Dr Janne T. Scheie.

Collaborations of the AUEB Teacher Education Program with the "DIAZOMA" Association and the Athens School of Fine Arts and organization of a Scientific Conference "Monuments at the Center of Life, Sustainability and Sustainable Development" (16/03/2018)

Undergraduate students (7th and 8th semesters) of all AUEB Departments who are interested in attending the Teacher Education Program, are called to apply for the Selection Process for the Practical Exercise Course in Teaching I at their Departments' Secretariats exclusively from September 1 to September 15, 2017. Candidates will be selected in accordance with the Senate desicion of 18/4/2013. 

The results of the student selection for the Course Practice in Teaching I and II of the Curriculum of AUEB Teacher Education Program for the academic year 2016-2017 were announced on the Departments' websites.

A particularly important international agreement was signed in May 2016 between the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, which offers the AUEB Teacher Education Program, and the Department of Humanities and Social Science Education του Stockholm University, Sweden, which is among the top 100 universities in the world. It is a collaboration that covers the areas of education and training, as well as educational research. The purpose of this agreement is mutual scientific interaction, educational exchanges, research cooperation, and other forms of cooperation in the sciences of education.

Cooperation agreements were recently signed by the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, which offers the Teacher Education Program.

In the framework of the AUEB Teacher Education Program, a seminar on "Teaching Suggestions with the Use of Social Networking Technologies and Quality in Education" is organized. The seminar is addressed to our University students studying in the 6th semester and beyond, as well as to Principals and Secondary School Teachers.

The Athens University of Economics and Business, within the framework of the Teacher Education Program Curriculum, organizes for another year a scientific conference on Thursday, May 15, 2014, 14:00-17:30 at the Antoniadou Amphitheater (1st floor, Antoniadou wing) AUEB building). Its topic is "Knowledge Economics: Exploiting Innovation in Secondary Education".

We would like to inform you that the Ministerial Decision No. 39460 / C2 / 21-03-2013 was published in the Government Gazette 689/t.Β'/26-03-2013, confirming the assurance of the pedagogical and teaching competence of AUEB Teacher Education Program. It is worth noting that this program is the first and only of its kind certified undergraduate degree program in HEI in Greece.
