a. Pedagogical competence. It consists, for the two semesters, of a total of eight (8) courses in Education Sciences, 2 hours of weekly teaching per each in conjunction with work carried out in public schools. These courses can be attended by students of all years..
b. Teaching competence. It consists ,for the two semesters, of the lessons "Practical Teaching" PAD I (winter semester) and "Practical Teaching" PAD II (spring semester). The courses are analyzed in a network of theoretical, practical and experiential teaching activities with increasing difficulty in real school environments.
Practical Training in Teaching I and II are only for undergraduate undergraduates (7th, 8th semester) of the AUEB departments and students are only selected by this application. Attendance at Practical Training I and II is mandatory, but attendance at other courses is required and assessed so that the prospective teacher can cultivate the necessary knowledge and competence background.
A key criterion and success factor of both the Program and any future educator is love for education and young people. These virtues as well as other anthropocentric values are sought to be cultivated through innovative experiential adult education methods.
