"Innovative approaches for the sustainable development of the city of Elefsina 2023: Entrepreneurship, Culture and Education"

The archeological / historical sites of Greece are parts of the man-made and natural environment, worthy of protection and promotion. Eleusis, as the European Capital of Culture for the year 2023, has an important cultural reserve that extends from antiquity to the Eleusinian Mysteries, enriched by all its historical and industrial development over time and reaches today in a multidimensional cultural and economic stock that includes businesses, festivals, folklore associations and an artistically active local community.

From the academic year 2018-2019 onwards, in the context of the annual innovative action "Education, Entrepreneurship and Culture" organized by the AUEB Teacher Education Program, in collaboration with the AUEB Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Diazoma  Organization and the financial educational magazine XENOFON, the students of the Program having created an important intellectual reserve for the study of the different aspects of the city of Elefsina as a cultural capital in 2023. After evaluation of all the studies by a special 5-member scientific committee, composed of representatives of the above collaborating bodies, a group of students was distinguished each academic year in the context of the action.

As part of the awarding of the three studies that were distinguished during the last three academic years, a special event will be held on Saturday 10/7/21 at 20:30 at the Old Olive Oil Factory of Elefsina, which is co-organized by the Municipality of Elefsina, the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality Elefsina and the Athens University of Economics and Business with the support of the Cultural Organization "Elefsina - European Capital of Culture in 2023".

The purpose of the event is to disseminate the innovative business ideas of the three award-winning teams to local government, economic, cultural and educational life of the city of Elefsina for its sustainable development beyond 2023.
