Students’ Educational Visit to the Exhibition of Giorgos Stamatakis

Students with Dr Vasiliki Brinia at 12/12/2025 participated in an educational visit to the exhibition of contemporary visual artist Giorgos Stamatakis at the Ileana Tounta Gallery, as part of initiatives promoting experiential learning and the integration of art into educational practice.

During the visit, students engaged in an open discussion with the artist, exploring the thematic concepts, materials, and artistic approaches of the exhibited works, while gaining insight into the creative process behind them.

Following the discussion, students worked individually and in groups on a specially designed worksheet, through which they analyzed selected artworks and linked them to the teaching of their academic disciplines, examining ways in which contemporary art can be utilized as an educational and pedagogical tool.

This educational activity highlighted the role of contemporary art in fostering critical thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning, while strengthening the dialogue between artistic practice and education.
