Athens University of Economics and Business hosted the 25th Annual Conference of the European Trade Study Group (ETSG)
The Athens University of Economics and Business, in collaboration with the Department of International and European Economic Studies, had the pleasure of hosting the 25th Annual Conference of the European Trade Study Group (ETSG) from September 12 to 14, 2024. The three-day event took place at the university's main premises, gathering top scholars and experts from around the world.
The ETSG is a forum for academic discussion and research on international trade among universities, international research institutes, and organizations.
The world-renowned Scientific Association exclusively covers all the important contemporary scientific areas in International Economics. To name a few, the nexus of International Trade and Development/Growth; International Trade Policy; Multinational Enterprises; Foreign Direct Investment; Outsourcing, Offshoring, and Global Value Chains; International Agreements on Trade, Migration and Labor, and the Environment; the Role of International Economic Organizations.
Among the participants were leading experts of the aforementioned scientific fields, representing a wide range of world-renowned universities, research organizations, and international institutions, such as University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, Paris School of Economics, University of Bern, University of Exeter, University of Colorado, University of Surrey, University of New South Wales, University of Chicago, Peking University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Osaka University, EU-DG Trade Commission, WTO, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, Kiel Institute of the World Economy, Economic Research Institute for the ASEAN and East Asia.
The conference was inaugurated by the Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Professor Vassilios Vasdekis, while the organization was coordinated by Professor Panos Chatzipanagiotou of the Department of International and European Economic Studies.
