Agiatis Benardou honoured with the IEEE TCCH Education and Training Award
A well-deserved recognition for Agiatis Benardou, who received the IEEE TCCH Education and Training Award at the IEEE Cyber Humanities 2026!
Warmest congratulations to UNESCO Chair member Dr Agiatis Benardou (AUEB, ATHENA RC & DARIAH-EU), who received the IEEE TCCH Education and Training Award at the 2nd IEEE International Conference on Cyber Humanities, held in Venice, Italy, in September 2026.
It is wonderful to see her work recognised with an award that celebrates outstanding contributions to advancing education, training, and capacity-building at the intersection of technology and the humanities. During the conference, Agiatis delivered the keynote “From User Needs to Knowledge Ecosystems: Designing Human-Centred Infrastructures for Digital Cultural Heritage.” Drawing on DARIAH ERIC’s experience and work carried out within ECHOES EU, she explored how digital infrastructures can move beyond providing access and create the conditions for meaningful collaboration among people, institutions, data and practices.
