PODCAST: THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OF THE OPA IN "Libraries on FM"

On Friday 17/05/2024, the scientific coordinator of the Teacher Education Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Dr. Vasiliki Brinia as well as two graduates of the program and members of the Scientific Team, Sofia Georgogala and Stavroula Marinopoulou, participated in the radio show "Vivliothikes sta FM". This show is a collaboration between the Union of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists and the Municipal Library of the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica, and broadcasts from the radio station of the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica, Epikoinonia94FM. The show is curated and presented by, Mrs. Mary Zakente and Mrs. Anthi Katsirikou.

The subject of the above show is "The connection between academic teaching and library". Specifically, the aim was to highlight the importance of libraries in universities and the benefits that their exploitation brings. Through the continuous utilization of the material of a library, knowledge is enriched and expanded. Also, the students actively participate in the learning process, and we are now moving from teacher-centered to student-centered teaching. In this context, the example of the Study Groups was mentioned, an activity of the program that motivates students to utilize the printed and electronic material offered by the library of the Athens University of Economics and Business. Finally, proposals for improving the services provided by a library were discussed.
