The former French Minister and European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs, Pierre Moscovici gave a lecture to the students of the Postgraduate Programme in International and European Economic Studies
The former French Minister and European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs, Pierre Moscovici, currently the First President of the French Court of Accounts (Cour des comptes), visited Athens at the invitation of his counterpart, Ioannis Sarmas.
During his stay in Greece, Mr. Moscovici visited the Athens University of Economics and Business and gave a special lecture to the students of the Postgraduate Programmes in International and European Economic Studies and International Negotiations of the Department of International Economics and Business Studies.
Mr. Moscovici analysed the current challenges the European Union faces and the prospect of further deepening cooperation between European countries. Finally, he took questions from the graduate students about his experience as Commissioner regarding Economic Affairs and on the management of the eurozone financial crisis in particular.
Mr. Moscovici was welcomed by the Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business, Professor Dimitrios Bourantonis. The discussion was moderated by the Director of the MSc in International Negotiations, Ass. Professor Spyros Blavoukos. Τhe event was attended by the French Ambassador Mr. Patrick Maisonnave, the Chairman of the Department of International and European Economic Studies, Professor George Economides and Professors of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
