InterAcademy Partnership Engages with the Academy of Athens

On Monday, 24th July, Prof. Christos Zerefos, the General Secretary of the Academy of Athens, Dr. Ourania Kosti, the Executive Director of Inter Academy Partnership and Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, who serves as the representative of both World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and Academia Europea within the InterAcademy Partnership (also the 2023 awardee of the prestigious Award of Science of the Academy of Athens) met at the Academy of Athens. During the meeting, they explored potential opportunities for further collaboration between the Academy of Athens and IAP.

The IAP is the global network of science, engineering & medical academies working together to provide independent expert advice on scientific, technological & health issues. Under the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) umbrella, more than 140 national, regional, and global member academies work together to support the vital role of science in seeking evidence-based solutions to the world’s most challenging problems. IAP harnesses the expertise of the world’s leading scientific minds to advance sound policies, improve public health, promote excellence in science education, and achieve other critical development goals. Academy members constitute more than 30,000 leading scientists, engineers and health professionals in over 100 countries.
