Horizon EU “Pathways2Resilience” project | Kick-Off Meeting in Brussels, EIT House
The kick-off meeting of our new Horizon EU Project | “Pathways2Resilience: Co-developing Pathways Towards Climate Resilient Regions in Europe” was held in Brussels, on March 2- 3.
This is a 30 million project to support EU Mission Adaptation to Climate. P2R takes an innovative systemic approach to regional climate resilience; one indivisible from Europe’s future economic and social development, intersecting with net zero commitments and demanding a markedly different approach from the one adopted so far. P2R will empower at least 100 regions and communities to co-design visions of a climate resilient future and corresponding transformative, locally led pathways and innovation agendas that ensure long-term impact through political commitment. Learn more about the project here.
Our team, ReSEES Laboratory, Athens University of Economics and Business, is leading the financial solutions work of the project.
Our team will be leading WP 5 regarding Support Services to bridge the Adaptation Finance Gap and will also be working closely with the project consortium participating in all WPs of the project. The progress of WP5 will contribute to the design and implementation of the Regional Resilience Journey (RRJ) for EU regions and communities through the mapping of barriers to finance which is imperative for regional transition, the identification of innovative financing solutions tailored to the regions’ needs, the development of a toolbox to guide regional actors in the filed of innovative finance and the launch of an Adaptation Finance Innovation Lab, co-designed with participating regions.
Principal Investigator (PI) on behalf of Athens University of Economics and Business/ ReSEES Laboratory is Prof. Phoebe Koundouri. Team members: Dr. Kostas Dellis, Dr. Conrad Landis, Angelos Plataniotis.
