Participation at Key Global Summits | UNGA, Summit of the Future, New York Climate Week 2024

This year, world leaders convened at the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, just weeks ahead of the pivotal COP29 climate summit in November. A landmark “Pact for the Future” was adopted, addressing critical global issues through the Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. This pact is a forward-looking, international agreement designed to ensure institutions are prepared to meet the rapidly evolving global landscape. Professor Phoebe Koundouri, Director of the ReSEES Laboratory at AUEB, along with other distinguished members of the ReSEES research team, actively participated in numerous side events at the UN General Assembly  Summit of the Future and New York Climate Week, contributing to vital discussions on international cooperation and climate action.
