Massive Open Online Course: Simulation models for the design of transition paths towards a sustainable society
I would like to inform you that we are offering a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) which you may find useful. The title of the course is ‘Simulation models for the design of transition paths towards a sustainable society’ and it has been organized within the framework of the European research project ‘MEDEAS’ (Horizon 2020).
This MOOC is divided into six main topics:
- Topic 1. Introduction.
- Topic 2. The MEDEAS Economy Module.
- Topic 3. Energy.
- Topic 4. Energy infrastructures and Land-use.
- Topic 5. Climate Change.
- Topic 6. Running the MEDEAS Model.
The course lasts six weeks with an estimated amount of work of 5h/week. There are two short videos for each topic, documentation on each subject, auxiliary materials, tasks for the student and a self-assessment questionnaire. No requirements are needed in order to take part in it (except for the proper knowledge of the English language).
In short, this MOOC will help students reach the necessary competences in the use of simulation tools for the evaluation of economy, energy and environment systems, and, more specifically, the different MEDEAS tools which have been developed in the MEDEAS project.
