About EMOP
The Laboratory of Economic Policy Studies (EMOP) is a non-profit research unit of the Department of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). It was first established in 1991 under the name of Institute of Economic Policy Studies.
The primary objective of EMOP is the promotion of research and the dissemination of research results in all areas of economic policy, with particular focus on the Greek economy, through workshops, conferences, publications and research programs. EMOP tries to serve as an umbrella organization for senior and junior Greek economists with an interest in economic policy issues, working both in Greece and abroad. Its members include the current and past faculty members of the Department of Economics of AUEB, as well as a number of external research fellows approved by its board. The board is appointed by the Department of Economics of AUEB and can be renewed regularly.
EMOP is independent, non-partisan and takes no institutional positions. The views on economic policy expressed in its publications, workshops or conferences by its members are those of the individuals concerned and not necessarily of the Laboratory or the Department of Economics.
