TRANsportation Systems and LOGistics Research Center (TRANSLOG)
The mission of the TRANsportation Systems and LOGistics Research Center (TRANSLOG) is the development of research excellence in Transportation Systems and Supply Chain Management. The research activities of TRANSLOG are focused on the application of Management Science and Information Systems methods in the planning, organisation, design, operation and management of Transportation and Supply Chain Systems. TRANSLOG's research philosophy is based on the recognition of the interdisciplinary character of the contemporary transportation and logistical problems, as well as the need for their systemic approach. TRANSLOG employs a systemic approach in developing its research activities and seeks to continually improve the quality of its research by constantly promoting the implementation of Total Quality Management principles and concepts in the organisation of its research, educational and training activities.
TRANSLOG is directed by Assistant Professor Konstantinos N. Androutsopoulos and employs research teams composed by members from teaching and research faculty of the University, faculty of foreign Universities, postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. candidates, postgraduate students, as well as other scientists. Besides its research activities, the TRANSLOG is involved in the educational activities of the Department of Management Science and Technology, and the Graduate Programs: MBA-International, Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business, MSc in International Shipping Finance and Management, supporting a series of courses related to Management of Transportation Systems, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Planning of Transportation and Distribution Systems, Transport Economics and Policy, and Project Management. In addition, TRANSLOG supports postgraduate and doctoral students in research topics covering Transportation Systems and Supply Chain Management.The active members of TRANSLOG include: Dr. Michael Madas, Dr. Christos Tsanos, Mr. Vasileios Sitokonstantinou, and Mrs. Eleni Karouti.
