Dr. George Ioannou is Professor of Production & Operations Management at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Virginia Tech, directing the Manufacturing Systems Integration Lab, and Director of the International MBA Program of AUEB. Dr. Ioannou received his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and his M.Sc./DIC in Industrial Robotics and Manufacturing Automation from Imperial College, London, UK. He was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Systems Research of the University of Maryland at College Park, USA, where he received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His research concentrates on the quantitative and analytical study of business systems, and merges operations research tools with modern information technology to address open problems faced by today’s complex enterprises and supply chain networks. His work has been sponsored by several research organizations and private companies from the US, Europe and Greece, while his publications have appeared in various archival journals and cover topics ranging from facility and material handling system design and operation, to Enterprise Resource Planning Systems. He has consulted for many companies and public organizations and was responsible for executive and educational seminars in his areas of expertise, both in the US and Greece. He is the recipient of the Microsoft Excellence in Education Award and has been honored by many Teaching Excellence Awards for his MBA courses. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), where he chaired the Research and Development Committee, and served as a member of the Editorial Board of the international journal Production Planning & Control. He has been as an Executive Member of the board of Directors of Hellenic Railroads SA, and a member of the Innovation Council of the Ministry of Development.
Andriosopoulos Kostas

Professor Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos is the Executive Director of the Research Centre for Energy Transition & Sustainability Center at Audencia Business School where he holds the position of full Professor in Finance and Energy Economics.
Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos holds a PhD in Finance (Cass Business School, City University London), where he has been the recipient of the prestigious Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation’s scholarship. He also holds an MBA and MSc in Finance (Northeastern University, Boston, USA), and a bachelor’s degree in Production
Engineering and Management (Technical University of Crete, Greece). In addition, Kostas held the position of Executive Director of the Research Centre for Energy Management at ESCP Europe Business School.
Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos is a member in various professional and academic associations.
- President of the Energy Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.
- President of the Decarbonization Fund of the Greek islands for the Hellenic Ministry of Environment & Energy.
- Founder and former Chairman of the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (a think-tank focusing on issues related to energy, the environment and the economy).
- Board member of the Global Gas Center - World Energy Council as a Gas and LNG markets expert.
- Member of the board of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) as a Vice President for Publications.
- Founding board member of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society.
- Member Technical Chamber of Greece.
- Member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, which recognizes outstanding academic achievements of students enrolled in collegiate business and management programs.
- Member of the Energy Commission of the Industry and Parliament Trust in the UK (2012-13).
In addition to his academic profile, he has an extensive professional experience in the business world and has served as a business consultant in energy, food, web & software, commodity trading and shipping industries. During September 2019 - February 2021 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Public Gas Company (DEPA), a position he also held for the period 2014-2015. Since August 2018 he is Country Manager of Akuo Energy in Greece, a multinational company based in France that develops RES projects in 17 countries around the world. In addition, he has worked as an advisor to the Retail Banking Director and Managing Director for the British Bankers' Association (2007).
Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos' current interests include energy-related geopolitical issues, gas and LNG market dynamics, RES investments, financial engineering and the application of operational research tools on risk management and investment techniques in energy, shipping and agricultural commodity markets.
His work has been published in international finance and commodity-related Journals and has participated as speaker in recognized conferences world-wide. He is the Associate Editor for the International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management, Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Energy Markets, he has edited special issues in recognized journals, acts as a reviewer for a number of academic journals, and has organized numerous international conferences.
Galariotis Emilios
Visiting Professor
Emilios Galariotis is full Professor of Finance at Audencia Business School (EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB), France and Associate Dean for research. He has occupied several high impact administrative posts at Audencia as Director of research Laboratory; founder and director of the institute of Finance; founder and director of the Centre for Financial and Risk Management (CFRM); Head of the Finance Department; and Head of Research Axis. Prior to serving in his present position, Dr. Galariotis was a Senior Lecturer at Durham University Business School (EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB), UK, where he was also Director of the masters programmes in finance.
He holds a four-year BA degree in Political Sciences and International Relations (1997) from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. He then switched academic focus by successfully pursuing a Diploma in Business Economics (with a first) and after that, a Masters in Money Banking and Finance from Middlesex University Business School with a distinction. He obtained his PhD in Financial Economics at Durham University in 2003 with very minor editorial corrections. In 2013, He obtained his « Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches Sciences Economiques » (HDR) from the University of Nantes in France.
He sits on the board of Directors of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (as Assistant General Secretary). He is a founding member of the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (affiliate of the IAEE) and sits on its board. He has served as the Vice President and President of the French Finance Association (Affi) and sits on their board. He serves on the committees of various journals including the Review of Behavioral Finance and is Associate Editor of IJFERM etc., while he has reviewed for governments and institutions for projects and programmes (ESRC, HQA, Russell Group Schools), and he has successfully led for his institution as part of larger outside-led consortia, research bids of above a million Euro (PANORISK Regional Funding; AQUASPICE EU Horizon). He has organised international conferences, round tables, and has chaired/participated in various scientific committees and reviewed for various journals. His research has received best paper awards and funding, several SSRN top-10 download positions (ranked top 2.3% for downloads). His work has been published in 60 articles in journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research; Journal of Business Ethics; Journal of Banking and Finance; Journal of Financial stability; Journal of Regulatory Economics; Journal of Economic Behavior and Organisation; The Energy Journal; Energy Economics; Small Business Economics; Annals of Operations Research; European Financial Management; Journal of Business Finance and Accounting; International Review of Financial Analysis; Journal of Development Studies; European Journal of Finance; Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money; Journal of Business Research; Energy Policy; Technological Forecasting and Social Change; IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; etc. He has edited several Books including for the Frank J. Fabozzi Series and written book chapters, and among other contributions he has written in they Wiley Encyclopaedia of Management.
In 2015 he was invited by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership on behalf of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to talk on sustainability and the future of finance teaching. In 2008 he was honoured as a new decision maker in the west of France by the “Centre de Communication de l’Ouest”, while he has received publicity in various countries from outlets (Times, Les Echos etc.)
Kalaitzoglou Iordanis
Visiting Professor
Iordanis Kalaitzoglou is a Full Professor in finance at Audencia Business School in France. He holds a PhD from Heriot Watt University and an HDR from University of Nantes, as well as various performance practice degrees at a BA level in clarinet, saxophone and recorder flute. His main research interests lie in the area of time modelling and rhythm, as well in its various applications in the fields of market microstructure, the energy markets, as well as in corporate finance, with emphasis in corporate social responsibility. He has given various interviews in international media, such as the BBC, Les Echos, The Guardian, The Kormssant, while he has published his work in various international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he is the founder and CEO of “Venus Roll” an energy consultancy firm, a founding member of the European Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre and the founder of the special interest group ReMA (Regulation, Market Structure and Asset Pricing).
Zissis Dimitris
Assistant Professor
Dimitris Zissis is an Assistant Professor of Management Science at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is visiting faculty at Warwick Business School (MSc in Business Analytics) - University of Warwick and has held research and teaching positions at the University of Bath School of Management, Norwich Business School (University of East Anglia), University of Liverpool and at Cranfield School of Management. He holds a PhD in Management Science from Athens University of Economics & Business, an MSc in Statistics & Operations Research, and BSc in Mathematics, both from the University of Athens. His research has been published in leading international journals in the areas of operations management, such as in Production and Operations Management, Omega, and in Transportation Research Part D among others, and has been presented in international conferences and fora such as those organized by INFORMS, EURO, Operational Research Society, etc. His research interests lie primarily in the fields of quantitative modeling of supply chain operations using innovative frameworks informed by game theory as well as in optimization techniques. Dimitris has also participated in various Greek, EU, and industry-funded research projects.
