Special Leaflet on VIMA-ΟΠΑ News by MSc in ISFM Director and Professors

The Greek newspaper VIMA published on its Sunday 17/12/2023 edition a special leaflet comprising a series of articles dedicated to International Shipping. The leaflet was edited by the Director of the MSc in ISFM program, Professor Manolis Kavussanos, and co-authored by the same and other Professors teaching in the Program. The aim has been to provide the general public with an overview of International Shipping and on selected topics of interest explaining the structure of this international industry, the role of management, strategy, human resource management, finance, the regulatory role of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) of the UN, and of ports in the Maritime sector.  The authors are/have been instructors/associates of the MSc in ISFM, all PhD holders and experts in the areas they write on. 

The articles were part of the ΟΠΑ(AUEB) News newspaper and the topics discussed included the following:

2. International Shipping: Structure, Markets' operation and Future Challenges, by Dr. Stella Moysiadou

3. The International Maritime Organisation (IMO): Its structure and role in Shipping Regulations, by Professor Pierre Cariou

4. International Shipping Finance and Climate Change, by Associate Professor Dimitris Tsouknidis

5. Management of modern Greek Shipping companies, by Dr. Panagiota Sapouna

6. The challenges in Shipping Human Resources, by Professor Maria Vakola

7. The role of Ports and recent challenges, by Professor Michael Dooms and Associate Professor George Vaggelas.
