Building an Inclusive Future: Strategies for Equity and Social Change for Sustainable Society - EAERE2024

On Wednesday, July 3, took place the Policy Session 13 “Building an Inclusive Future: Strategies for Equity and Social Change for Sustainable Society” at EAERE2024 (Leuven, Belgium) organized by the Executive Committee of the EAERE Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative DEI.

This policy session focused on fostering an environment that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion within its policy framework with discussions on equity and fairness, inclusion, policy development, and implementation, measuring the impact, intersectionality, cultural competence, challenges, and a way forward related to the DEI policies/ laws prevalent in countries, organizations, industries, and or fields. The session aimed to promote dialogue, share insights into global perspectives and experiences, and encourage participants to take meaningful actions to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within their respective spheres of influence.

Professor Phoebe Koundouri's during her speech, referred to the paper Springer Nature Group Climate Action on the demanding nature of EGD and its relationship to SDGs , and then referred to the COP28 launched report with Huawei and AE4RIA - Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Αephoria on the skills and occupations needed to actually implement the EGD, 85% of it not yet invented!
