G-STIC CONFERENCE DURING WORLD EXPO IN DUBAI: OCTOBER 2021

    At the end of October 2021, the first edition of the 5th G-STIC Conference took place during World Expo in Dubai. The World Expo is focused on knowledge and technologies that are crucial to achieving the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It was therefore the perfect setting for holding the fifth G-STIC Conference, the first one to take place outside of Brussels (Belgium).

    The conference has welcomed 250 speakers and lay on 44 sessions, 4 workshops and 2 innovation tours. Among the many esteemed speakers, we had the honour of receiving H.E. Lazarus Chakwera, President of Malawi, who used his keynote address to emphasise that technology and innovation are key enablers to curbing global challenges such as climate change.

    The future of shipping will require speedy and integrated technological solutions that work beyond traditional sectors. Solutions which aim to deliver greater benefits to people, communities, businesses and the planet.

    Such massive transformation needs all hands on deck: researchers, industries, regulators, investors. Success will depend on various stakeholders bringing existing and emerging technologies to market at scale, while following transition pathways aligned with Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement.
