SDG Lab in Davos | Word Economic Forum 2022
Professor Phoebe Koundouri participated at the World Economic Forum 2022 in Davos from 24 – 26 May, with the program of the SDG Lab organized by UNGSII Foundation. The SDG Lab is a multi-stakeholder initiative that contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prof. Koundouri, pointed out, it is not a question of funding, helping the cities all across the continents to fasttrack SDG implementation, as enormous funds have been created for example EU Green Fund with financed agreed by World Bank, IMF, EBRD and others – it is more a question of empowering the city administrations to learn how to apply to receive these funds.
Also, Prof. Koundouri gave a speech in the session “Why investing in SDGs bridges purpose with profits” with Jasmin Ademovic, President of the City Council, Sarajevo, Joseph Cajigal, Chief Executive Officer, Princeton Capital Management and Dr. Dr. Matthias Vollbracht, Head of Research, UNGSII. She presented the 3-step ESG-SDG approach that AE4RIA developed, which gives capacity to the business sector to respond to the requirements of the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, efficiently and in a profit enhancing way.
