ERC “Water Futures” project | 3rd meeting in Netherlands
The six-year ERC project ‘Water Futures‘ had a quarterly meeting, which also marked the end of the first year. The meeting was held at the KWR Water Research Institute from 22 to 23 September and focused on how to design next-generation water distribution systems.
The project Principal Investigators,Professor Marios Polycarpou (University of Cyprus), Professor Barbara Hammer (Bielefeld University), Professor Phoebe Koundouri (Athens University of Economics and Business) and Professor Dragan Savić (KWR Water Research Institute/University of Exeter) and their teams, enjoyed an interactive workshop on topics including:
- Optimisation-based Sequencing for Transitioning of Urban Water Systems under Deep Uncertainty
- Distributed Monitoring and Evolvable Control
- Explainable Machine Learning to support robust decision making by data-driven technologies
- Achieving Eudaimonia; a new theoretical and applied sustainable socio-economic framework
- Water-Futures Research Toolbox and Case Studies
