“Climate Change and Us” | The official launch of the Goulandris Natural History Museum Climate Change Exhibition
The official launch of the Goulandris Natural History Museum exhibition on climate change took place on Friday 16 April. This is the first interactive exhibition on Climate Change in Greece and is entitled “Climate Change and Us”.
Prof. Phoebe Koundouri, in her capacity as UN SDSN Greece and SDSN Europe co-chair, was the head of the External Scientific Advisory Committee for the development and design of this exhibition, while Prof. Stella Apostolaki and Prof. Chrysi Laspidou, where also part of this committee.
The main purpose of the exhibition is to help visitors better understand the effects of climate change, the extent to which it affects us all, and how everyone can help. The Exhibition is divided into 17 sections that address the following themes: Energy, Transport, Food Production, Water usage, Waste/Recycling, Scientific Research, Impact, Personal Responsibility, and Universality.
The keynote speakers of the launch event were Mrs Fali Vogiatzaki, the President of GNHM, Prof. Phoebe Koundouri and Prof. Costas Synolakis, member of the Academy of Athens and the President of the Athens College . Prof. Koundouri highlighted the decades-long unique leadership of the Goulandris Natural History Museum in educating young Greeks on the sustainable interaction between humans and natural.
